Miles 138
After leaving Cracker Barrel this morning we
decided we would try a drive along the Gulf Coast again, leaving US 10 and going
on Hwy 90. Most of the way it was lovely and interesting. There are so many houses and property for sale and a lot of new building going on. I don't
think this can still be from Katrina 11 years ago but something has the area
very depressed. As we got closer to New Orleans we had to get back on US 10
again as that is the only way to get across the Mississippi River in this area.
I didn't realize it when I made the reservation here at Bayou Segnette that we
are in the same exact spot we were in on our first visit here. It was the only
spot left when I made the reservations so I took it no matter what it was. John
has had a hacking cough for about a week now. I called Kaiser and asked for some
Codeine cough syrup to help him sleep at night. We picked that up before coming
to the campground. I am not sure it set well on his stomach as he just threw up
his minimal dinner. I think he should have taken the cough syrup after eating...:-( I feel bad for him but he has no fever or any other
symptoms, just this cough. Tomorrow is a new day, I hope he feels a lot better.
