We didn’t start our trip until almost noon since we wanted to talk to people in CA and see how Mom is doing today. When we spoke to her she is better, but weak and will spend another day in the hospital.
We are in Morganton, GA tonight. We spent a lovely day winding along back roads, starting in Alabama and ending up in Georgia. What lovely states these are. We passed quaint towns with lovely little churches and homes. There are still some pretty colors in the trees and we left a little whirlwind of leaves in our path wherever we ventured. Please don’t think me morbid for putting in photo of a cemetery, there were lovely old ones along this road, some even looked abandoned, but yet well kept, if that makes sense. The trees were so pretty here.
We reached Morganton and called ahead to a place called Whispering Pines RV Campground. It is small but adequate and has full hookups and Wi-Fi for the week for $194. There is some 12% tax added to that to make the total, not sure what that was about. The guy was nice and the place seems decent enough, just 8 miles from Tara. There is also a laundry facility here, which we haven’t looked at yet.
We finally see our little grandson in person.

After a brief visit with the little family we headed back in the direction of Blue Ridge to find a restaurant with REAL food. No more fast food for a while will be FINE with me! We had delicious prime rib, salad, and vegetables. Long but good day, ready for bed now though!
