Nichols Winery & Cellars
May 20: We were going to leave our spot about 10a but left later due to the crowded situation. We are in no rush anyway. We told Nichols Winery & Cellars that we would be there at noon and we were even a little early. We had read the reviews so we were not surprised. Plus Keith, the owner, told us it was just a parking lot with no view. It is fine. The outside is pretty delapadated but inside his little tasting room it is colorful and inviting. He gave us a wine tasting and we bought a hefty supply of Zinfindel to last us for some time to come. He has artwork on the walls and stacked around, all for sale. There are decorated boxes and other things for sale as well. He has this fancy menu that was served somewhere around here when his wines were served. The menu is signed by Julia Childs, not sure when but she has been dead for some time now. He has a huge storage room with wine. I was a little concerned about that and quality control, but we already bought the wine so it was too late too reconsider. This place looks like it was a nice little stop at one time but it is lacking now, which is too bad because Keith is a nice guy and the wine was good. No complaints from us, it appears to be a very safe place to spend the night.
